Hello

In my car ( C20XE GSi16V ) the ETC is not working. When i start the motor, the ETC is not lighting, but when i go 2-300 meter, the ETC light on the dashboard and then i cant turn it on again. I know that the computer of the ETC is beside of the drivers seat. But if i disconnect the cable and put it on the cumputer again, its not changing anything, the problem exist.

Can someone help me, how i can solve this problem? :worship:

Best Regards, Zsoltee

You have to go to the opel dealer, where they can do a diagnose with their diagnostic tool (Tech 1)

There should be a fault-code, so you can start from that, to search your problem

No you cant do it with the paperclip method
Because the fault is not in your engine but in the ETC computer.
And with the paperclip you can only read trouble codes of your engine.

Your ABS is working ok?

Same here; engine starts, ETC works properly. After 250-1000 meter, ETC light comes on (ETC switches off) automatically. Not able to switch the ETC on manually at that point. Not that I mind, crappy system... Only usefull when taking off on real slippery roads (ice/snow)

Jep, same problem here and still no solution found.
I did pull out the fuse anyway. Like Tim says, there's no need for ETC under normal circumstances. And as far as I am concerned, it is not very useful on REAL slippery roads either. Just be gentle with your right foot

I can image though, that you would like to have it working. I do also want to have it working eventhough I wouldn't use it.

Laagvlieger: Thanks. So i must find a guy with Tech1, to solve this problem. :|

Tim82, LeonW: yeah i want it to make it work. If the car have it, then why not. The winter comes, slippery roads with ice and snow, that could be a good thing if it works. I do not want to use it in summer, because the ETC pull back the car and it wont go so good like now. :D

I find somebody and read out the error code. If we can make it work, then I'll explain what was wrong and what is the solution. But if someone knows, dont hold it back. :worship:

i don't think so ;)

Because your Abs is working together with your ETC

It depends what tje ETC problem is.
If the problem with the ETC is caused bij the throttle adjust motor then this has no effects on the ABS.

I can dat onderschrijven, because mijn abs is working very goed. Although the ETC doesn't do shit anymore, after switching itself off after a few seconds.
