Tiers size has been changed to 205/40 R17
How much air pressure (PSI) do i need for maximum comfort without damaging the tiers?

I'm driving the exact same tyresize with 2.6 Bar, everybody has to find out for himself what he thinks is a good pressure..
I think 2.8 - 3.0 bar is the maximun you should drive... that's what my tyrespecialist says...

Correct values can be found when you look inside the fillercap.
They range around 2.2 front/2.3 back empty to "loaded" 2.4 and 2.7. (exact numbers I did not check now, if you want tomorrow).
Those are factory presets for the normal 15.
For maximum comfort stay around that also on 17. Add a small tad for the 50 vs 40.
The 2.5/2.6 mentioned is okay I think for 17.
